As the Coordinator, Training Design you will support the Training Development & Design function in the design, production, revision and tracking of training documents and related materials to meet Canadian Pacific and regulatory standards.


  • Accountable to produce, revise, and prepare a variety of training documents and related materials (manuals, handouts, and job aids) used for classroom delivery;
  • Assist in the production, uploading, and troubleshooting of online course materials (SuccessFactors LMS);
  • Coordinate the printing, graphic design elements, and web services required by the project;
  • Coordinate with co-workers to ensure the efficient use of time and to meet priorities;
  • Define, negotiate, manage, and communicate project schedules and status, while balancing priorities on multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Assist co-workers in managing their projects and troubleshooting issues;
  • Define, implement, and maintain quality standards for all projects;
  • Manage distribution of products and services for Training Development & Design;
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate formats for training materials, and services to ensure effective communication;
  • Manage French translation process for all training documents and related materials;
  • Maintain and protect sensitive and confidential material;
  • Manage the electronic document management system, which tracks the production and revision of training material;
  • Support the Training Development & Design department with advice on appropriate technology and applications;
  • Identify, and apply appropriate software best suited for projects;
  • Manage the online print request system, providing support and troubleshooting for the instructors.


  • Diploma or degree in Information Design or related field is an asset;
  • Ability to interpret and translate concepts into a visual representation for the intended audiences or delivery method;
  • Knowledge in e-Learning design, development, and technology;
  • Thorough understanding of the printing and publication practices and requirements, including an in depth knowledge of publication software and file formats;
  • Ability to work with various file formats and computer applications and using the appropriate one for the project;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, computer and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail;
  • Good negotiating and problem solving skills;
  • Very strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs;
  • Previous project management experience is an asset.

Experience with the following software is considered an asset:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat);
  • Articulate Storyline or other rapid authoring software;
  • Learning Management Systems (SuccessFactors).
