Launched in January 2015, York University’s new School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is rapidly expanding. It will be one of the largest and most innovative of its kind in the country with the potential to reflect the full spectrum of the continuing education field. With unique course delivery models and top quality programs, the School will increase the University’s adult and international student population and will be central to the University’s overall growth strategy. The Registration Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are the coordination of the admission process for application programs; facilitating the registration process ensuring accuracy, a customer-centric experience and efficiency; and the maintenance of grade and student records.

Education:
Community college diploma in business administration or related discipline. One year of University education preferred.

Experience:
2 years’ experience in a customer focused administrative or program support position including experience with course registrations, processing and balancing financial transitions and payments, and working with a CRM or similar databases (data entry, running reports and ensuring accuracy).

Skills:
Technical Skills – Typing 45-50 w.p.m., accuracy essential; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel including mail merges, familiarity with email software; proficiency with databases including entering information, running reports, editing data; proficiency with customer relationship management systems; proficiency with student registration systems (SIS, SRS), proficiency with a point of sale terminal. Professional Skills – Excellent customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; active listening; effective interpersonal skills; teamwork; exercising tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with others; ability to maintain confidentiality; good organizational skills including setting priorities, multi- tasking and meeting deadlines; working effectively under pressure of high volume; exercising initiative and good judgment; flexibility; ability to quickly learn and apply new policies and procedures; punctuality and reliability, basic financial skills, excellent attention to detail.
