Program Manager to Program Administrator. The Program
Administrator(PA) is responsible for managing a large, complex portfolio of new
and existing professional development programs and initiatives for non-degree
and professionals (e.g. teachers and administrators) within the Education field for
F2F and on-line AQ/ABQ to ensure that they are of the highest caliber and current.
This position plays a key function in identifying new market-driven revenue-
generating professional development programs by: assessing stakeholder needs,
identifying new programs that contribute to revenue growth, championing them
through the approval process (including accreditation), developing program
curriculum that is innovative in design and format (e.g. in-class, online and
blended), scheduling courses, hiring and managing instructors, liaising with
marketing staff and marketing the programs, ensuring quality control, and
developing and managing program budgets. The PA implements and manages
program activities and facilitates ongoing program market research, development,
and evaluation. The PA is responsible for the overall quality of new and existing
programs and services: responding to evaluation data to make ongoing program
improvements in order to reposition them in the marketplace; managing the
program budget and forecasting projected resource needs. The PA collaborates
with internal and external partners and associations for their success.
Education:
B.Ed, MA or M.Ed. Standing OCT certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a board of education in a senior administrative role e.g. Superintendent. Experience supervising Educators, designing curriculum, preparing proposals. Strong track record of building sustainable, strategic relationships at senior levels within the Educational community, government, OCT, boards of education. Demonstrated experience in project management and evaluation. In depth knowledge of the Ontario School System.
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential; public relations skills; excellent organizational, planning, coordination and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to deal courteously and effectively with people; political acumen, initiative and flexibility; influencing and negotiation skills to develop strategic relationships. Good business judgment of the financial viability of potential programs and the ability to maximize the financial return of programs. Demonstrated ability in: exercising good judgment and initiative in providing advice and appropriately directing/resolving problems; maintaining confidentiality and handling highly sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact. Proven ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure of high volume of work, ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to work independently and as part of a small team. Demonstrated management experience (preferably in a unionized environment) and the ability to develop and work with a team.
