Reporting to the Deputy Chief/Manager Paramedic Services, is responsible for supervising the logistics controllers, and logistics technicians in developing, introducing and monitoring logistics processes related to equipment supply chain from ordering to distribution, standardization and preventative maintenance processes; allocating required human resources and ensuring the collection of data and preparation of reports related to the Ambulance Act and related legislation, equipment and vehicle compliance and performance.


  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Business Administration, or in Process Design and Management or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in an EMS environment including program administration/delivery, business planning/budget, project management and program development, and supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Satisfactory Police Criminal Background Check.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Regulations, Acts, By-Laws, Standards, guidelines and procedures pertaining to ambulance operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ambulance service operation and related fleet, technical support and material management issues.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management.
  • Demonstration of Departmental competencies, including flexibility and adaptability, accountability, strategic thinking, innovation and creativity, and collaboration.
  • Management competencies including results/achievement focus, human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning, decision-making/judgement, representation and professionalism and job knowledge.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications.
  • Contemporary staff supervisory skills including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices, and relevant employment legislation.
  • Good communication and inter-personal relationship skills to liaise with staff, health agencies, community groups, Ministry of Health, Fire, allied agencies etc.
  • Analytical, technical, decision making and process-flow skills with sound ability to plan and problem solve.
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours, including shift work and on-call, as required.
