POSITION DESCRIPTION

At Yoneda & Associates, we provide the full range of mechanical consulting engineering services in today’s ever-demanding construction market. We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator / Field Inspector to join our high-rise residential team. This position will include performing site visits at Yoneda’s high-rise residential projects to review field progress and to ensure that mechanical installations meet their design intent. The successful candidate must perform all construction administrative duties including attending site meetings, preparing field review reports, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and conducting progress claim reviews. The successful candidate will receive field training from our Senior Construction Administrator prior to overseeing projects independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience in Canada in the building construction industry with specific knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for high-rise residential buildings. Design experience in these areas is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of and the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with the requirements of the British Columbia Building Code and local municipal By-laws.
• Familiarity with LEED® requirements.
• Familiarity with District Energy heating utilities.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with design team members and with site contractors.
• Ability to manage projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
• High motivation to deal professionally with clients to ensure they are satisfied.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
