Reporting to the Director, Downtown YMCA, the successful candidate will develop and coordinate the implementation of communication strategies regarding the centre’s challenges, opportunities and achievements. S/he will work closely with the centre’s entire Management Committee as well as the YMCAs of Québec’s communications and marketing department to implement strategies and ensure respect for the brand. S/he will also be responsible for the Downtown YMCA’s special events as well as various communication projects and client analyses. S/he will help follow up on member complaints. S/he will be a member of the centre’s Management Committee and will participate in various meetings and taskforces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute the centre’s communication plan, including implementing Association-wide initiatives in the centre and occasionally in other centers of the YMCA of Quebec.

Develop strategies and communication pieces that respect the standards established in order to inform members, participants, partners and employees on the centre’s and occasionally in other centers of the YMCA of Quebec’s challenges, opportunities and achievements.

Develop and implement strategies that will enhance visibility and awareness of the YMCA’s impact with members, the community and our partners.

Stay abreast of the latest fitness industry trends and statistics, as well as some of our community programs. Share this information with the marketing and management teams.

In collaboration with the customer services department, ensure the management, processing and follow-up of member comments, suggestions and complaints, and ensure resolution of complaints in collaboration with all members of the centre’s management team.

Adhere to the YMCA’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures.

Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy in his post and in the Association and participate in activities / fundraising events.

QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in administration, communication/marketing or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).

Proven writing skills in at least one of two languages (English and French).

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Proficient with commonly used software, particularly with communication-related technologies.

Have no criminal record in connection with employment.

Location: Downtown YMCA

Status: Full-time

Salary: In accordance with the salary scale in YMCA

Schedule: 35 hours per week, flexible schedule
