Position Title: Coordinator, Youth Works Employment Program
Status: Full Time- 35 hours/week
Placement Date: November 2015 (dependant on confirmation of funding)
Term: November 2015 to November 2016 (with potential of extension with contract renewal)
Annual Salary: $40,000 to $45,500 (dependant on experience)

Purpose and Objective
Responsibilities of the Coordinator, Employment Programs position will include assisting and reporting to the Director of Association Services. The Program Coordinator will network and research other service providers that may be of benefit to the Y. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for employment program budgets, staffing and general HR duties within employment programming. They will prepare monthly reports on employment programming projects to meet and exceed delivery requirements. As Coordinator of Employment Programs, you will administer and coordinate client disbursements according to the conditions of employment programming agreements. You will demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse needs of staff and deal with critical incidents in an appropriate and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Liaise with existing employment service providers, community groups and professional organizations as it pertains to employment services
  • Strategize ways to partner and/or arrange complementary services that will meet client needs
  • Increase community partnerships with other service agencies and local employers
  • To develop, monitor and evaluate all employment programs and services
  • To oversee the day to day delivery of service
  • To oversee staff hiring, development, supervision and evaluation of program
  • To oversee the budget and overall financial management of the program
  • Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall Y policy
  • Evaluate current business processes and systems
  • Co-ordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
  • Facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports
  • Review performance data (financial, and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
  • Oversee and direct information sessions, interviews with clients, and entry into program
  • Ensure and monitor success and increase benchmarks
  • Ensure program follows Community Services Act, WCB Policies, Policies and Procedure of the YMCA, FOIPP and Child Protection Rules and Regulations Required Competencies

Qualifications

  • Certification, Diploma or Degree in related field such as Employment Counselling, or Business Administration

  • Minimum 2 years experience with program coordination and development with knowledge of government contracts
