The YMCA of Northern Alberta is a charity operating in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Wood Buffalo regions, offering programs in Health, Fitness, and Aquatics, Child Care and Community and Housing Initiatives. The YMCA is seeking an energetic individual that will focus on Human Resource recruitment for the organization. Key elements of this position include developing and implementing recruitment strategies in consultation with the management staff, recruiting and posting for employment and volunteer opportunities, screening applications and maintaining a streamlined onboarding process. The Recruitment Coordinator will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all staff, volunteers and members.
Wage : annual salary of $33,500
Key Responsibilities:
Post and recruit for employment and volunteer opportunities
Pre-screen all employment applications
Arrange and support interview process as required
Generate letters of offer and prepare new hire packages
Onboard new Child Care hires in Edmonton region and other departments (as requested)
Track and monitor compliance with Police Information Checks, waivers, SkyPrep training, etc
Data entry into HRIS and Payroll Systems
Develop orientation packages, monitor, track and submit Police information Checks and SkyPrep training for Counselor and Leader in Training Programs
Respond to employee inquiries ie. Letters of Employment verification
Contribute as a member of the staff team, and complete other related duties as assigned.
Demonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values and the YMCA programs and services.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration
18 years or older
Management Certification, Human Resources Certification, or related education
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search
Experience
Previous experience working in a Human Resource department
Previous experience working in a not-for-profit will be considered an asset
Knowledge/Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; exceptional written communication is required
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows Operating Systems
