WSP is currently seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings Mechanical & Electrical Group, located at our Markham office. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring Mechanical Engineer to join a team which is dedicated to developing the skills of junior Engineers, giving them exposure to complex, challenging project work and providing a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Reporting to the Manager this position will be responsible for mechanical engineering focusing on transportation buildings (HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection). The incumbent will be involved in construction phase review, progress draw reviews, prepare change notice and quotation reviews, as well as attending design coordination meetings.


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience, working on buildings projects, related to HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection;
  • Ability to work with a minimum of instructions;
  • Demonstrable experience in CAD, using AutoCAD;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (English). Bilingual (French) capabilities an asset;
  • Must be able to complete majority of project independently, final review and stamp by P.Eng;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible attitude are a must;
  • Experience interacting and working positively with clients, contractors and other third-party stakeholders would be an asset;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Codes;
  • Possess a positive, team-player attitude.


  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a technical delivery career position;
  • Registered as an EIT with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
