WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Technologist or Junior/Intermediate Engineer located in our Dartmouth office for a three month contract, to assist on current projects. The ideal candidate will be an experienced environmental technologist or junior/intermediate environmental engineer, with contaminated site experience .


Completion of field sampling programs (soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment);
Phased environmental site assessments, risk assessments, remediation, environmental emergency response, monitoring and regulatory closure of contaminated sites. Requires direct working knowledge of:

Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan
Atlantic RBCA
Contaminated Sites Regulations (N.S.)
Federal environmental quality guidelines and standards
Field and analytical methods for the testing of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, sub-slab vapor and ambient air for potential contaminants of concern;

Supervision of contractors during Phased Environmental Site Assessments (i.e., test pitting and drilling programs) and water supply assessments (,i.e., pump tests);

Inspection and supervision of site remediation works;

Implementation of safety protocols and coordination of contractor safety meetings;

Data compilation and interpretation.

Assisting in the preparation of reports and drawings;


Diploma in Environmental Technology or a degree in Environmental Engineering or Geoscience;

Demonstrated contaminated site experience;

Demonstrated willingness to learn;

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;

Attention to detail;

The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, energetic and well organized;

A valid Driver’s License is required.
