POSITION DESCRIPTION

WSP is currently seeking a Electrical engineer to join our industrial department, located at Labrador city.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the design of plans, specifications, details, schedule and estimates in industrial projects;
  • Conduct design calculations and ensure that plans conform to guidelines, code requirements and other regulations;
  • Participate in the coordination of the team in electricity, instrumentation and control;
  • Supervise the work of the technicians and draughtsmen assigned to the project;
  • Ensure communication between the client, the various contractual stakeholders and the functional units involved in the project;
  • Administer budget and implementation schedules, track timelines according to objectives and specifications to client specifications;
  • Manage all the phases of the technical realization of the project: the preliminary phase, the planning phase as well as the final integration phase of the deliverables to the client;
  • Participate in the design of plans, specifications and details from guidelines for industrial projects;
  • Ensure that health and safety and environmental standards;
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering;
  • 5 years of relevant minimum experience;
  • Be a member licence Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador – PEGNL is an asset;
  • Experience in consulting engineering and industry;
  • Ability to develop business as an asset;
  • Sense of initiative and organization;
  • Attention to detail, meticulousness;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent communication both orally and in writing;
  • Knowledge of the English language is essential
  • Excellent communication in english and french orally and in writing.
