Introduce guests to trial wagering, restaurant promotions and to facilitate direct communication with the Hospitality & Event Sales Manager to deliver an exceptional and elevated entertainment experience through seamless planning and execution.


Key Responsibilities: Wagering

•Maintains guest focus at all times, assuming 100% responsibility for quality of experience
•Provide courteous, proactive and efficient service by greeting and engaging customers, responding to their wagering inquiries which includes but not limited to types of bets, betting tutorials, how to use self serve machines (terminals and TICO), HPI accounts, gift cards and cash cards.
•Proactively engages new customers providing assistance and instruction on how to place a bet
•Managing and maintaining display materials and promotional items for events.
•Reconcile end of day sales and product tracking.
•Provide 1st level service on wagering equipment which includes replenishment of TICO cassettes and hoppers.
•Educating our new and core customers on our latest products, services and promotional opportunities.
•Generate high level participation in promotional/marketing events.
•Assists guests with the investigation of cash card or voucher discrepancies through direct communication with WEG Wagering Operations Department
•Working with teammates from other departments to meet and exceed our guests expectations
•Practices Responsible Alcohol Management at all times, rules of SMART SERVE ; professionally advising guests when alcohol consumption needs to be slowed down or discontinued for the balance of the visit
•Notifies Management any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
•Provides immediate invitation for all guests to return upon their departure
•Cleans and tidy’s all guest wagering areas, including but not limited to the Jockey Club, Main Dining Room and Bar
•Create new wagering initiatives and promotions
•Co-ordinate wagering inclusion into service, events and private dining

Key Responsibilities: Promotions

•Work with Hospitality & Event Sales Department to create Turf Lounge promotional calendar
•Work with Hospitality & Event Sales Department to generate new bar and restaurant promotional ideas
•Work alongside the Hospitality & Event Sales Department to implement promotions and ensure creative needs are met
•In-house promotion of events to guests of Turf Lounge
•Inform guests of upcoming horse-racing events and promotions

Key Responsibilities: Social Media

•Manage Turf Lounge social media sites by updating on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
•Create monthly social media plan and weekly content strategy
•Oversee online customer engagement, respond to online inquiries and feedback
•Communicate status of online media to all Turf Lounge management
•Performs and/or assists with all duties as assigned by manager on duty

Key Responsibilities: Hospitality and Event Sales

•Liaise on an on-going basis with the Hospitality & Event Sales Manager (HES Manager) to ensure all client needs and requirements will be met
•As required responsible for answering incoming phone calls from group inquiries and direct them to HES Manager/Office
•Provide site inspections with existing and potential clients as required by the HES Manager
•Review of Banquet Event Order’s (BEOs) in an accurate and timely fashion in order to facilitate required communication throughout Operations team
•Review and co-ordinate daily operational needs for facilitating group/private dining requirements as listed on BEOs
•Ensuring that services meet client specifications including quality of room set-up, requirements list on BEO etc
•Greet the Group/Private dining clients upon arrival as required
•Work with the Operational Teams to ensure all arrangements and details are dealt with, including reviewing last minute changes
•Prepare Group/Private dining in-house communication including group packages, print group special menus and/or signage, and create daily Banquet Event Order (BEO) service packets for the service teams
•Attend and represent Operational Team in weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings as needed. Meeting to be conducted via conference call
•Follow-up each function by ensuring operations has completed a Function Wrap-up which is to be submitted to the HES Department along with supporting POS bills for group invoicing
•Accountable for ensuring all billing has been processed correctly before forwarding to HES office

•Minimum 1 year service experience in a fast paced work environment
•Able to read, write, speak and understand English
•Smart Serve Certification
•Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
•Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance
•Outgoing, enthusiastic, energetic personality
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a diverse working environment
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Able to work well under pressure
•Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
•Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
•Able to listen effectively to benefit the customer
•Must have a pleasant and approachable attitude
•General knowledge of sport of horse racing & pari-mutuel wagering.

This position may require moderate physical efforts
•Standing & Walking required more than 70% of the time
•Pulling & Pushing
•Lifting of weights up to 50 pounds

•May be required to work additional hours as dictated by business demands and staffing levels.
•Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
•Must be available to work as late as 12:00am
•Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
