Purchasing Specialist / Buyer

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: ?

  • Apply corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide commercial expertise to clients and ensure that corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.
  • Identify and address issues related to the Procurement process, escalating unresolved issues to the Procurement Lead / Commercial Manger.
  • Prepare and issue Expressions of Interest.
  • Prepare and issue tenders, manage addenda or clarifications, terms and conditions qualification review, and develop commercial bid evaluation and purchase recommendations.
  • Negotiation, preparation and administration of purchase orders.
  • Establish and maintain successful vendor relationships.
  • Change Management / Close out.
  • Collaborate with Expeditors and Material Controllers to ensure timely delivery of issued POs.
  • Ensure proper handling of purchasing support documentation and related files.
  • Identify and implement supply chain cost savings initiatives.
  • Assist in project scheduling.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications: ?

  • Procurement work experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Successful completion of a Technical Diploma, Business/Commerce Degree, or an Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • SCMP Membership would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Project Management Methodologies.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a calming disposition.
  • Ability to interface and communicate with various disciplines within Wood office; in a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
