The Wolverine Group located in South Edmonton is currently hiring for a permanent, Full Time Senior Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller.

You have 3+ years in full cycle accounting and can work as back-up for either the Office Administrator or Controller, if needed. You have excellent people skills and have experience with computers & tablets, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, and maybe even have some experience with SAP, even if you’re not an expert just yet. Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. To be further discussed at the time of the interview.

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Assisting Controller with preparation of month-end and year-end reporting
  • Preparation of GST returns
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • General Ledger accounts reconciliations
  • Completing month end and year end entries, including, but not limited to:

-Closing entries

-Accruals

-Financing Entries

-Allocations

-Other entries as needed

Accounts Payable – Overseeing Accounts Payable functions, including:

  • Reviewing invoices for accuracy, appropriate sign-off and documentation
  • Completing cheque runs/payment process
  • Vendor inquiries & statement reconciliations

Banking

  • Weekly Bank Reconciliations
  • Credit Card Reconciliations

Administrative

  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintain filing and record systems
  • Process invoices and supporting docs
  • Perform accounts receivable calls
  • Answer customer inquiries
  • Perform general office duties and assist co-workers as required

Education/Experience and Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Canadian accounting designation or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of full cycle accounting
  • Experience with SAP Business One is an asset
  • Oilfield experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • The demonstrated ability to operate within a fast paced work environment, be accountable, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
