As an Ice Technician at WinSport, you will report to the Director, Arenas and Supervisor, Arena Maintenance. You will be part of the team responsible for the safe maintenance of the state of the art multi-complex facility to achieve outstanding standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but will not be limited to:

• Ice Maintenance and Resurfacing
• Assist in Ice installation and removal
• Refrigeration Plant maintenance checks
• Facility maintenance including a variety of tasks such as cleaning dressing rooms, stands and lobby, and bathrooms replenishing as needed, as well as, wash and wax floors as required and the exterior maintenance of sidewalks and parking lot
• Public Relations
• Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers and WinSport guests
• Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals
• Review all OH & S notices/meeting minutes as they are distributed or posted on OH & S boards located within each department
• Duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications

• Arena Level 1
• Valid First Aid, CPR / AED and WHMIS training
• WHMIS Training

Physical Demands
Must lift or carry up to 10 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently Must be able to work on slippery surfaces frequently Must be able to walk long distances on even and uneven surfaces continuously Must be able to work in a variety of climates including extreme cold and warm weather Shift Work
