Reporting to the Supervisor, the Technical Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing technology standards and solutions in accordance with Manitoba eHealth Standards and Enterprise Architecture. The Technical Specialist is also responsible for providing leadership and work planning and assignment to team resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or other post-secondary technical diploma plus related experience.
  • Technical courses in technical domain (e.g. WebSphere Business Process Manager, WebSphere Application Server, IBM Integration Bus, DataPower, Cloverleaf or HL7 Integration, Linux/Unix).
  • Minimum five years of experience in IT related work.
  • Minimum three years of experience leading design and implementation in technical domain.
  • Experience with, or understanding of, IT architectural procedures and processes.
  • Experience with infrastructure architecture design.
  • Experience leading and managing technical teams as part of project delivery; and familiarity with the project life cycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • Ability to adapt readily to changing environment and respond with initiative.
