Qualifications:
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.

Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.

Medical Terminology required

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology (pass mark 75%).

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel) required.

Demonstrated proficiency in Accuro preferred

Working knowledge of ESP scheduling system and staffing patterns preferred.

Two years previous related experience required.

Previous experience with automated staff scheduling and payroll systems preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Must have excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Preference will be given to candidates competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledgeable in Aboriginal customs, beliefs, and practices.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), an Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

Duties: Reporting to the Manager of Patient Care, the incumbent is responsible for the effective, efficient provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Manager of Patient Care of Anesthesia, and secretarial/clerical support to the Medical Director of Pain Clinic and other Pain Clinic staff as required. Duties include: Typing or transcribing a variety of material including: correspondence, patient assessments, third party payer reports; maintaining database information on patients & clinic activities; scheduling patient appointments; preparing patient records for use; act as receptionist for the area; receiving incoming telephone calls, taking and relaying messages, greeting and directing visitors and patients, etc; maintains financial reports and other duties as required.

Salary: Effective April 1, 2016 – $19.488, $20.073, $20.675, $21.295, $21.934, $22.592 C.U.P.E. Contract
