  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Typing 50 wpm.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) required.
  • Experience in electronic calendar management (Outlook) required.
  • Knowledge of dictaphone preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology required.
  • One year previous related experience in a medical setting required.
  • Experience communicating effectively and efficiently with senior level management staff, physicians, support staff and the general public required.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Knowledge of physician Curriculum Vitae an asset.
  • Knowledge of Common C.V. program an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Preference will be given to candidates competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledgeable in Aboriginal customs, beliefs, and practices.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, a Child Abuse Registry Check and an Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

Duties: Reporting to the Manager, Physician Services/Section Head, the incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of secretarial support to the Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Duties include establishing and maintaining effective and efficient office systems, typing a variety of correspondence, scheduling meetings, calendar management for the assigned Physician profile, acting as a receptionist for the area, making travel arrangements and assisting other secretarial staff in the Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Frequent interruptions.

Salary: Effective April 1, 2015 – $18.355, $18.902, $19.472, $20.057, $20.658, $21.278 C.U.P.E. Contract
