INDEFINITE TERM POSITION: SUBJECT TO 24 HR NOTICE OF EXPIRY

SALARY RANGE : In accordance with the Collective Agreement

DUTIES :

• Responsible for nursing care of assigned patients in conjunction with Program Director and other members of the health care team.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Current CRNM or CRPNM registration
• 2 years experience preferred working within an adult and/or geriatric mental health setting required
• Relevant CNA Certification an asset if not an RPN
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental status assessments
• Demonstrated knowledge of suicide assessment and intervention
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) required
• Working knowledge of the interplay between physical and mental health
• Understanding of the principles of ECT as a therapeutic modality
• Current knowledge of psychopharmacologic drugs and their side effects
• Experience working with groups preferred
• Experience working with patients and their families preferred
• Understanding of primary nursing and related roles
• Demonstrated familiarity with the nursing process and care planning
• Proficiency in IV therapy an asset
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work well with multi-disciplinary team members
• Good physical health to meet the demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment record required
