POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Facility Management of the Winnipeg West Integrated Health & Social Services, the Manager assists with the planning and co-ordination of the operation, maintenance and repair of all aspects of the physical infrastructure.

Supervises subordinate trades. Project planning and implementation within the Facility Management area. Works with and assists with capital planning projects for site projects.

Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures. Works with the Director to enable Facility Management related work performed at the sites meet or exceed Workplace Safety and Health requirements.

Will sit as member, chair or co-chair of Facility Management Committees including Fire Safety, Emergency Planning, Health and Safety and Quality Improvement and Energy Management for Winnipeg West Integrated Health and Social Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid Manitoba or Inter-provincial 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate is required

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be an asset.

Five (5) years experience as a Power Engineer 2nd Class

Five (5) years experience in the operation of a hospital power plant.

Experience in planning, maintenance, directing and controlling all aspects of facilities management including mechanical, electrical, architectural, fire and life safety of a large facility, preferably healthcare

Experience in controlling and directing all aspects of a Preventative Maintenance Program.

A satisfactory employment record is required.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required.
