Under the general direction of the CSU Manager, and in collaboration with the CSU Nurse and Crisis Unit Practitioner, the incumbent is responsible for providing supportive services to individuals in mental health or psychosocial crisis.
Complete High School education, Manitoba standards.
Completion of a recognized Community College Diploma program in Social Services, or a related health discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by CSU may be considered.
Current CPR and First Aid (Family and Friends Level).
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Mental Health First Aid Training.
Food Handlers Certificate Level I (City of Winnipeg).
Minimum of two years mental health experience at the para-professional level, providing support services to adults with mental illness, required.
Experienced in the provision of crisis intervention and the application of the principles of crisis intervention.
Extensive personal and/or professional experience working with diverse populations.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Commitment to and knowledge of community based health care.
