Bachelor of Human Ecology, Foods and Nutrition Major (or equivalent) required.

Dietetic internship at an accredited institution required and must be a member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba and Dietitians of Canada.

Minimum three (3) years related experience working with aging women with respect to lifestyle, wellness concepts, and practice.

Demonstrated leadership and ability to participate and contribute to the healthcare team.

Proven abilities in the development and implementation of dietary programs and educational workshops.

Strong service delivery, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

Ability to work independently.

Demonstrated Initiative, flexibility and critical analysis skills.

Demonstrated computer operational ability including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word/Excel/Access/Powerpoint.

As part of the For Her Heart’s Sake project team the incumbent will report directly Director: Research and Evaluation / Director: Mature Women’s Centre for the education and treatment of the study participants. The ideal candidate will demonstrate that he/she can:

Works within a multidisciplinary team in the development and coordination of classes and provision of on-going support for the patient in the area of cardiac education.

Counsels patients on a one-to-one basis for the development of individual nutritional programs, and provides follow up for same.

Handles the analysis, problem solving and on-going follow up for assigned client cases.

Develops informational hand-outs and instructional materials.

Ensures patient information is accurately documented updated and filed.

Provides other duties as assigned.

Adheres to all safety and health regulations and safe work practices.
