Title: Painter

The basic role of a painter is generally to perform all types of painting work on the company’s projects as assigned. Job Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position.Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour on call basis.2. Perform the work required in construction trades and related activities.3. Perform any other duties and assume any other responsibilities as required or assigned.4. Protect the assets of the company and its customers.5. Work in compliance with Staff Policies and Health and Safety Policies.Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, On Call, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening.Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training an asset.Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses etc.)Experience: 3 – 5 years Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, driving record check, credit check. Languages: Speak English, Read, English, Write English

Reports to: Project Manager/Estimator and the supervisor at the jobsite. Major Work Area: Construction, Maintenance / repair, Renovation, Historical Restoration.Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, Residential.Transportation / Travel Information: Willing to travel. Must hold valid drivers license.Work Location.Various locations.Own Tools/ Equipment: Tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat. Areas of Specialization Painting Specific Skills: Determine specifications and calculate requirements. Able to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines. Essential Skills: Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organization, significant use of memory, finding information, continuous learning.Work Site Environment: At heights, confined spaces, noisy, dusty, varying temperatures, indoors and outdoors.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job this individual must have a full range of body movement including walking, standing, sitting, lifting floor to waist, lifting waist to shoulder, stair climbing, ladder climbing and bending or twisting. There may be periods of chemical exposure and times when individuals will be operating motorized equipment and power tools. Measures of Performance: The Painter shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished: 1. Work meets normal acceptable standards for the type being performed.2. Work performed is within the time and material budgets allowed for this project.3. Customers are satisfied.4. Project Manager/Estimator satisfied. 5. Working in compliance with the Health and Safety Policy and Winmar Staff Policies.
