APPOINTMENT: Temporary, full-time (1.0000 fte)

The Position
The Learning Services Teacher works collaboratively with administration, classroom teachers, parents, support staff, and agency and community partners. This teacher leader has responsibility for assessment of, and co-planning programming and supports for, exceptional student learning needs. Responsibilities also include shared responsibility for the scheduling and supervision of a number of support staff. This is a key role on a strong Learning Services Team.
The Person
The preferred candidate

is an experienced primary educator with a Master’s Degree in Special Education or significant coursework and experience related to Learning Services
·
holds or is eligible for a BC Teaching Certificate
·
has a strong belief in inclusive educational practices and an ability to foster an appreciation for diversity across the school culture
·
is a passionate advocate for and excited to work with students with special needs
·
has a strong repertoire of assessment and instructional practices and approaches to meet identified universal, strategic, and intensive learning needs across curricular areas
·
has a knowledge of and a willingness to work with current technology
·
demonstrates exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
