Wind Japanese and Thai is an upscale AYCE Japanese and Thai restaurant found in 2011. During the past decade, Wind has received many applauses from the local community and has become one of the most popular AYCE restaurants around the Niagara region.

With the fast and stable growth, Wind has opened three branches (St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Mississauga) and developed two sub-brands ( East Izakaya and Ma Chinese Cuisine ). After the renovation in middle 2017, Wind (St. Catharines) is ready to welcome its old customers and new visitors.

Now we are seeking candidates who are qualified for Runner’s position. Runners are server assistants sending the dishes to customers and preparing appetizers, desserts and other service-related materials under the administrative direction of the supervisor of food runners.

Job Type:

• Part Time (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are preferable)
• Full Time (three to four days per week)

Shift Time :

• Whole-day Shifts: 11:00 to 22:00 (weekdays); 11:30 to 22:00 (weekends);
• Half-day Shifts (1st half and 2nd half) are also acceptable;
• Service staff need to stay and finish the closing tasks after 22:00.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Add different sauce or ingredients to the dishes from the kitchen;
• Double check the presentation of the dishes;
• Serve dishes to customers quickly and correctly;
• Prepare the materials, such as food garnishments and eating utensils, used for dish serving;
• Ensure all the tasks in opening checklist and closing checklist are completed on time;
• Record the daily usage of sauce and ingredients;
• Participate the monthly cleaning and staff meetings;

Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older;
• A valid work permit for temporary residents;
• High school education or equivalent;
• Can work at a fast pace under heavy pressure with a positive attitude and team spirit;
• Flexible working shifts, including weekends and holidays;
• Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs and stand for a long time;
• Hospitality education background is a strong asset but not necessary;
• A valid Canadian driver’s license is a strong asset but not necessary.
• Be fluent in English. Mandarin is a strong asset but not necessary.
• A valid Smart Serve certificate is a strong asset but not necessary.
• Food handler certification is a strong asset but not necessary.
• Prior experience is a strong asset but not necessary;
