We are currently seeking a RF LTE Engineer to join our
Technical Team.
Position Overview
The RF LTE Engineer is responsible for the analysis,
design, implementation, optimization and enhancement of
wireless telecommunications networks. Responsibilities
include link budgets analysis, system dimensioning for
coverage and capacity including traffic analysis,
initial system design and dimensioning, coverage
planning, site identification, evaluation and zoning
support, interference analysis and optimization.

A day in the life:

  • LTE RF Design and capacity dimensioning.
  • LTE overlay and 3G Traffic balancing and mobility

strategy.

  • eNB Datafill -Provide eND Datafill with all required

information (PCI, TAC..) and related neighbors
definitions “LTE to LTE” and “LTE to 3G”.

  • LTE Cluster Tuning and pre-launch optimization

o Analyze SSV drive test and check the following:

  • Cell camping: UE is able to camp onto a cell when

powered on

  • Check RSRP and SINR levels
  • PCI verification
  • Swapped Feeder identification
  • Voice calls: both UE originating and terminating
  • Handover verification.
  • Cell throughput (DL/UL)

o Define neighbors and adjust e-Tilt to minimize the
interference.
o Provide SSV reports and Cluster Tuning report.

  • eNB/ LTE Cells parameters audit and tuning:

o eNB/Cell parameters audit.
o Idle mode camping strategy on 3G and LTE.
o VOLTE parameters tuning and related feature testing.
o New parameters setting recommendation with an
explanatory report on the effect of the changes(provide
field trials if available)
o Define a trial cluster and submit a trial report after
a monitoring period.
o Generalize the change and submit a final report at the
end of the monitoring period.

  • New Features activation/testing:

o Testing of VOLTE features (TTI Bundling, RoHC, 4 Rx
Diversity…).
o SRVCC parameters tuning.
o CSFB parameters tuning.
o Recommend features that will improve network
performance/capacity with field trial reports.
o Define a trial cluster to implement the new feature
(if it’s on a cell basis) and submit a trial report upon
completion of the monitoring period.
o Generalize the feature and submit a final report at
the end of the monitoring period.

  • KPIs and raw counters:

o Define suitable LTE KPIs (counters and formulas) to
measure performance more accurately.
o Assist Wind team in building user defined LTE KPIs and
reports on the NetAct.

  • LTE Traffic and Capacity long and short term

dimensioning
o Perform long and term studies for capacity evolution
based on inputs and scenarios submitted by Wind.
o Propose effective solutions for short term capacity
problems.
Required Skills & Abilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master of Science/Engineering.
  • Network performance monitoring and tuning (3G+LTE)
  • Traffic growth evaluation and proposing short and long

term solutions

  • Features and tools evaluation and Implementation
  • Site Coverage prediction preparation
  • Solid experience in GSM/UMTS/HSPA+/LTE RF Planning and

Optimization

  • Experience with Nokia WCDMA and LTE features and

software

  • 5+ years’ experience in RF Planning and Optimization
  • Excellent knowledge in planning and Optimization tools

(Mentum, Asset, Nemo, Actix Mapinfo)

  • Excellent knowledge in vendor’s equipment and tools

(Nokia)

  • Project management of internal and external resources
