The Production and Purchasing Planner is responsible for establishing and maintaining the production master schedule at our Burnaby production facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and arrange production plans and schedules for the following week(s) that meet both customer demands and the facility’s production capacity, communicate with Ops Team to ensure execution of schedule
  • Implement and manage 3 month rolling production plan
  • Work with sales, marketing, and planning to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Conduct weekly production schedule meetings with Ops and Sales
  • Sequence packages and flavours to maximize efficiencies while minimizing operating costs
  • Coordinate with co-pack partners to schedule production line including release of raw materials and ingredients and communicate key product and production information
  • Reconcile and confirm daily production orders, update the ERP system daily
  • Count and reconcile daily inventory. Maintain proper inventory levels for all items; finished goods, packaging and raw materials
  • Update Operations management of any deviation from daily inventory count
  • Manage co-pack inventories and timely reporting to co-pack partners
  • Work with existing suppliers and potential new suppliers to ensure packaging and ingredients are hitting all cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Work with Sales, Admin and Ops teams on ERP system material set-ups and sourcing changes for product BOM’s
  • Maintain product profiles in the ERP system to ensure the integrity of the MRP and MPS modules.
  • Monitor and track ingredient and raw material usage in production runs
  • Track and report efficiencies and yields associated with inventory/production
  • Prepare KPI information as applicable. Generate and review daily reports

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or similar environment required
  • 1 – 3 years of prior production planning experience highly preferred
  • Technical knowledge and working experience with ERP systems preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to work with mathematical concepts
  • Must have the ability to define a problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
