What can you expect in the Field Service Engineer position?
Westport Fuel Systems is currently seeking a very highly motivated self-starter for the position of Field Service Engineer to support field service operations in eastern Canada. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background and some experience in the areas of heavy duty mechanics, customer service, and training. The ideal candidate for this position will be capable of working under minimal direction and be highly organized with strong communication skills.
•Work with local partners, service providers, and customers to ensure timely and effective support of Westport products
•Provide on-site, hands-on technical support to dealers and customers
•Provide detailed repair reports through service channel to ensure continual product improvement
•Frequent meetings with customers and service partners to ensure good communication and customer satisfaction
•Tracking, evaluating and reporting on customer fleet operations, reliability metrics and repair incidents
What background will make you successful?
•A Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical) in engineering or other related technical field
•0 – 5 years of experience within the heavy duty truck industry
•OEM Engine Technician certifications will be considered an asset
•Hands on mechanical aptitude & knowledge of engines and fuel systems are highly desirable
•Familiarity with automotive workshops, OEM procedures and processes with service and maintenance experience
•Must have excellent organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to efficiently manage priorities, customer expectations and escalations through service team interaction
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written advisedand verbal, with the capacity to communicate well with people of varying technical abilities
•Possess a full set of mechanic tools an asset
•Possess MS Office programs skills with emphasis on excel
•Familiarity with natural gas vehicles, systems, and related experience will be considered an asset
•Have the ability to accept highly flexible hours with frequent local travel and international overnight travel up to 50%
•Must be bilingual in French and English
