The Regional Director of Planning and Performance is accountable for the planning, coordination, support and evaluation of an integrated, comprehensive regional approach for strategic, operational and branch planning, policy and procedures, ethics, research, evaluation and enhanced service delivery through appropriateness of care and operational efficiency initiatives. The Director will work with healthcare providers throughout Western Health to facilitate and support performance measurement activities through the establishment of standardized monitoring tools and reporting mechanisms. This position reports to the Vice President of Long Term Care, Rural Health & Quality.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Qualifications Required: Candidates considered for this position must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the health system as well as corporate management competencies in carrying out specific responsibilities. Candidates must have at least five years of leadership and management experience in health care and hold a graduate degree in a health related field, health services administration or business administration. They must also confirm their leadership, communication, advanced analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated expertise in the areas of strategic planning, ethical decision making, enhancing research capacity and organizational performance improvement is required.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Master’s degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.

**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period
0830-1630 Hours, Monday to Friday.
