The Regional Director of Quality and Risk Management is accountable for the planning, coordination, support and evaluation of an integrated, comprehensive regional approach for quality management within Western Health. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the quality improvement and risk management frameworks which include a comprehensive client/patient safety program. This position will be responsible for ensuring the development, coordination and maintenance of all processes related to accreditation. This position reports to the Vice President of Long Term Care, Rural Health & Quality.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates considered for this position must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the health services system and have at least five years of leadership and management experience in a clinical setting. He or she will demonstrate strong leadership and facilitation skills in addition to strong evidence-based decision making, analytical and problem solving skills. The successful candidate must also demonstrate expertise in the areas of quality improvement, risk management, the accreditation process and an understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation. He or she will have effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams. A broad knowledge of data base design, report design, and information systems is required. The successful applicant will have completed an undergraduate degree in a health related, clinical discipline and master’s degree in a health related field, health services administration or business administration.

In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Master’s degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.

Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period
0830-1630 Hours, Monday to Friday.
