The Opportunity
We are currently looking to add a Quality Assurance Analyst to our Quality Assurance department in Winnipeg. The Quality Assurance team is responsible for r eview of software specifications and user requirements; including elicitation, confirmation and documentation where required. They will also follow through the requirements and specifications into use cases, test cases, test scripts, test execution, data collection, analysis and reporting of software testing results. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Strong analytical skills required including ability to review functional and technical documentation to translate requirements into test cases that confirm application and operational requirements.
  • Plan and execute manual functional, system, end-to-end, integration and regression testing.
  • Identify and create test data needed for test execution.
  • Analyze testing results, report, track and validate defects, identify and report root causes for test failures
  • Liaise closely with internal and external clients, the QA team, software development, vendors and users through the software development life cycle to identify and resolve problems.
  • Manage personal tasks according to prescribed project priorities, with the ability to work with parallel assignments.

Education and Professional skills/knowledge

  • 2+ years’ experience in functional and integration software testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including management, development and subject matter experts
  • Technical skill sets include exposure to Oracle 11g, working knowledge of SQL developer and Toad for data analysis, Linux Operating System commands
  • Working knowledge of test support tools such as JIRA or Selenium would be a benefit
  • Understanding or practice of Business Analysis processes and procedures an asset.
