Global Regina’s News Department is currently seeking a full-time Weather and Traffic Anchor/Reporter (Morning Show) to join their team. This position is part of the Global News team which produces local newscasts 7-days a week. The successful candidate will work primarily on Global Regina’s Morning Show. We are looking for someone with the right mix of personality, camera presence and knowledge of weather. This position reports directly to the News Director.

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

• Produce and present weather forecasts and traffic information using WSI software system
• Present informative and viewer-friendly information with competence and clarity
• Strong on-air presentation, including the ability to have comfortable unscripted discussions with other Anchors and guests
• Produce and host packaged segments as assigned
• Produce and distribute on-line content including web articles and social media posts
• Represent Global Regina in the community by attending and hosting a variety of events
• Assignments will include days, evenings and weekends as required
• Other duties as required

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree in Journalism or similar relevant education
• Must be able to clearly communicate weather and traffic flows and the impact they will have on our viewers
• Proven ability to present information to viewers in a clear and concise manner
• Effective writing skills, proven ability to meet editing and on-air deadlines
• Able to work co-operatively in a team environment
• Exemplary work ethic and punctuality
• Computer savvy with the ability to learn electronic weather and traffic systems
• Knowledge of southern Saskatchewan geography, demographics and community would be considered an asset
