We are looking for an IT Support Technician who will be responsible for technical support and troubleshooting issues related to software, hardware and computer systems. Reporting to the National Operations/IT Manager, this individual must be a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills and a track record of delivering exceptional customer service. This individual will provide support for all three locations (Burnaby, Calgary, and Mississauga) as well as our remote office users.

Your core RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Maintain all the technology needs, systems and networks for all sites
  • Provide tier 2 technical support for issues related to software, hardware, and computer systems for all local/remote office users
  • Assist in doing hardware and software roll-outs and refreshes, including laptops, desktops, MFP’s, printers, etc
  • Troubleshoot end-user GP issues and liaise with support company for resolutions
  • Create and maintain IT and technology policies and procedures
  • Work with department managers to prioritize IT issues based on business needs
  • Research applications to streamline and improve processes
  • Administer email user accounts
  • Address virus and malware issues
  • Support company smartphone users
  • Backup to the EDI position

What YOU BRING to Watson Gloves:

  • 3+ years of IT help desk or IT support
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent business experience with appropriate certifications
  • Software: knowledge and experience using Windows, Office 2010, 2013, 2016, Windows 7,8,10
  • Hardware: knowledge and experience using Lenovo Servers
  • Firewalls: knowledge and experience using Sophos, and Cisco security appliances
  • Mac experience an asset
  • SQL experience an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains
  • You are a strong team player able to work collaboratively with external & internal groups
  • You have proven customer service skills and you are detail-oriented as well as a self-starter
  • You have excellent written & verbal communication skills
