Job Summary

This Residential Home Share Contractor is an experienced care provider that is able to provide contracted support to two adult individuals. The home is located in Surrey, BC. The successful care provider will be expected to deliver direct care in the home, as well as, contract their own respite people to assist. Successful contractor will have the demonstrated skills to work proactively with families.

The successful applicant must possess:
Completed Social Services Degree, Diploma or Certificate

3-5 years of direct experience working with persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Experience in Positive Behaviour Supports, ABA and Community Based Supports

Experience supervising others

Experience with computers, including knowledgeable operation of standard programs and printer/scanner/copier

Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance

Mandt and/or Non Violent Crisis Intervention certificate

Current First Aid/CPR certificate

Clear criminal record checks

Required Skill and Abilities:
Able to have the flexibility to respond to the needs of the individual(s) served.

Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Able to plan and implement changes in response to persons served needs/desires and environmental influences through interdisciplinary case management.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; able to foster a cooperative work environment.

Commitment to quality assurance

Ability to comprehend information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including business communications and basic mathematics.

Suitability of the applicant will be determined through a screening process based on an agency interview, as well as, reference checks and criminal record searches.
