Vivo has an exciting opening for a person with an eye for design and an ear for clear and concise writing, not to mention passionate, high-energy, all around awesome person to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Summer Student. Based in Calgary, you’ll support and work with our marketing team on a variety of interesting projects. Our ideal candidate has experience in graphic design, production coordination and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

A Day in the Life:

• Design and manage the production of marketing materials for Vivo from concept through to pre and post-production. This involves template-based and custom design of materials including print ads, brochures, feature sheets, postcards, posters, signage and web banners.
• Provide design and layout support for corporate marketing materials where required.
• Ensure accuracy of all proofs and submissions, including proofreading/editing.
• Manage pre & post-production, ensuring high quality production and timely delivery of all marketing materials.
• Coordinate print production (sourcing external suppliers/quotes as required).
• Ensure all co-operative print, magazine and online banner ads, are submitted “on-time” and “on-brand”.
• Communicate and reinforce deadlines/brand requirements to all agents while maintaining the highest level of client service.

What Your Talents Include:

• Passion for writing content, organizing text & images in a clear, concise message.
• Design/Write copy for several platforms or mediums such as brochures, web content, news articles, and social media.
• An interest and knowledge of developing wayfinding projects.
• Ability to create presentations and handouts.
• Familiar with layouts/design using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong knowledge of generating documents using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and some Excel).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, objectives and deadlines.
• Great communication skills, a passion for service and the ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically, even in challenging situations.
• Ability to focus but also “change gears” on the fly if needed.
• Team Player: Enthusiasm for contributing to and collaborating within a small team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Video/Digital Camera use, video/sound editing experience is an asset.
