VistaCare Communications is a leading telecommunications solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking motivated candidates to join our operations in Vancouver, BC for permanent, full-time positions as Yard Labourer’s. Yard Labourer’s are involved in the upkeep of all yards and vehicles as well as the maintenance of all tools and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain working knowledge of company policies, protocols, and procedures and their proper application for safe and efficient completion of all assignments

Support a safe, friendly, unified, equitable, and non-discriminatory workplace

Complete all forms (i.e. time reports, safety assessments, driver logs) accurately and on time

Maintain company assets (i.e. tools, equipment, vehicles, etc.) diligently and prevent negligent loss, theft, or damage

Maintain tools and equipment, as per company policies and manufacturer specifications

Load and unload materials/equipment into work areas

Maintain clean and safe work sites and vehicles

Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or crew leader

All Yard upkeeping

Knowledge and Skills:
Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail

Ability to proficiently operate a Forklift

Ability to work with exceptional professionalism, interact politely with customers and the public, and demonstrate excellent work ethic

Ability to read and understand work orders and blueprints as an asset

Ability to work in varying weather conditions, as well as rural, isolated, and wilderness locations

Ability to work continually in a physically demanding atmosphere, must be able to frequently lift and carry 60+ lbs

Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks

Experience Required:
General construction knowledge

Telecommunications infrastructure knowledge

Experience handling and installing fibre optic and copper cables as an asset

Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license (Required – Class 3 with airbrakes) and clean driver’s abstract

Willingness to work out of town, overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs, as required

Proficient in English (written and verbal)

Willingness to learn, accept challenges, initiative to complete work with minimal oversight within an assigned timeframe, and accept responsibility/ownership for assigned work

The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
