Job Summary

We are looking for an addition to our maintenance team that takes care of day to day repairs and preventative maintenance on a number of buildings. We are currently expanding the department as a new building will be added to our growing operation in March of this year. Most days are spent performing general repairs such as minor plumbing, drywall, paint, lighting, door and window hardware etc. The position will also play a role in monitoring and documenting the performance of the plant, repairs as needed and assisting in performing and suggesting actions that impact the safety, efficiency and reliability of the buildings many operating parts. We also take care of some of the snow removal, grounds keeping and overall up-keep. As we are a home to many people requiring care, the successful candidate must be of a social and caring nature.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Building mechanical checks and documentation
• Work order completion for a variety of general repairs from plumbing to lighting, door and windows etc.
• Respond to water leaks, sanitary system problems
• Assist in maintaining the heating system and responding to problems with it
• Landscaping care, snow removal
• Regular maintenance of HVAC equipment including changing filters, belts etc.
• Paint and drywall repairs as required
• Preparing rooms for occupation
• On-call technician in rotation for a week at a time

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

• Three years of recent experience in plant maintenance, renovation, paint, drywall, plumbing or construction. A fast learner with a mechanical aptitude.
• Good working knowledge of all maintenance-related issues including: plumbing and electrical systems, boilers, carpentry, mechanical systems, HVAC, sprinkler systems and generators
• High school Diploma
• Valid driver’ license. (Drivers Abstract required)
• Must be physically fit and in general good health with the ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 25 lbs and be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
• Strong organizational skills
• Positive attitude with strong personal work ethic
• Strong social skills and a friendly demeanor are a must in our home like environment
• Ability to work well & meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment
• Clear criminal record security clearance with vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
