WIN (Victoria Women In Need Community Cooperative) is a non-profit social enterprise that runs 4 thrift stores in Victoria and is self funded in providing programs for women in Victoria. Our programs support women along their journey between crisis, self sufficiency and wellness.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for creating and implementing an effective marketing and communications plan for WIN with the intention to increase the community’s support for WIN through donations, sales in the stores and increased numbers of volunteers. They will also develop and distribute relevant communication materials, interact with external clients to deliver WIN’s message to the public, deliver presentations and work with the media as delegated.

The incumbent will also coordinate community events, as well as other events intended to promote WIN or fundraise for WIN. The Coordinator will establish, develop and maintain relationships with both individual and corporate monetary donors. The incumbent may also handle specific projects as delegated by the Executive Director.

Specific Accountabilities/Deliverables

  • Develops effective strategies to deliver WIN’s message to the community,
  • Prepares, executes and evaluates annual marketing and communications plan,
  • Develops and coordinates WIN marketing campaigns, and follows through on the preparation and distribution of marketing materials,
  • Interacts with external clients and the general public including attending networking events, delivering presentations and overseeing WIN’s community engagement plan,
  • Builds relationships with external stakeholders and ensures these relationships are fostered,
  • Prepares and distributes in-store marketing materials and ensures that marketing materials are consistent across the organization,
  • Implements WIN’s social media campaigns and ensures that all external communication tools are used effectively including the website, blog, e-newsletters, info graphics, pamphlets, posters and print ads,
  • Builds relationships with the media, prepares press releases and acts as a spokesperson as delegated,
  • Represents WIN at promotional events as delegated by the Executive Director,
  • Develops and coordinates marketing and communications strategies to reach monetary donation goals including presentations, events and media campaigns.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent relevant experience,
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing and communications,
  • Social media, blogging, design and website maintenance skills and experience are strong assets,
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) would be an asset,
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment,
  • Ability to problem solve and work autonomously when needed,
  • Proactive, organized and creative.

Hours: 22 hours per week.

Wage: to be determined based on knowledge and experience.
