Business Analyst

Number of openings: 1

Work location: Burnaby – BC Address: 3777 Kingsway, Burnaby

Work remotely: yes, but expect them to be in office a minimum of 3 days per week

Number hours per day: 8

How long will you require this resource: 6 months with possibility of extension

Must to have skills:

1. Instructional designer experience including story boarding and using the ADDIE model

2. Experience with eLearning development, preferable using Captivate

3. Excellent Project Management, written and communication skills

Nice to have skills:

1. Working with third party development vendors

2. Experience working in a SharePoint environment

3. Experience working with cross functional teams/departments

Project details: Varied development projects – will be responsible for end to end of the development cycle including the project management and working with vendors. Team size and environment: Larger team is ~60, specific team is 7 permanent and 1 additional contractor

The ideal candidate will have experience with instructional design and development experience leveraging Adult Learning principles and most importantly a strong drive to succeed in a highly participatory team environment.

Responsibilities:
• Instructional design and development of learning content in multiple modalities including by not limited to Instructor face-to-face, VILT and eLearning using proven methodologies, such as ADDIE
• Manage development projects from start to finish including analysis, design, development, first run of content and evaluation of content
• Collaborate to drive the development and implementation of technical, systems, tools and professional skills learning programs
• Recommend the most effective delivery modality to support business requirements taking into account both need and cost-efficiency
• Identify opportunities and recommend learning solutions to support evolving business requirements
• Recommend alternatives, or value-add extensions to training as appropriate
• Work with NLD team members to define learning requirements and conceptual instructional design plans aligned to organizational performance requirements
• Utilize NLD evaluation standards to measure and reinforce learning
• Work with business intelligence team to report on the effectiveness of the learning content in order to support continuous improvement and program success measurement
Required Knowledge:
• Proven knowledge in content development using recognized methodologies
• Proven knowledge and experience pertaining to adult learning principles and techniques
• Proficient with Office programs, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge with evaluation models such as the Fitzpatrick model
• Distinguishable assets
o Experience with rich eLearning and media development
o Working knowledge of SharePoint
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in design and development of learning content
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Proficiency in impact-based decision making and the ability to define and adhere to defined scope
• Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to continuously prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
• Captivate eLearning development
• Effective and participatory in working groups with ability to influence or compromise when necessary in order to gain consensus
• Bilingual in English and French (verbal and written) is considered an asset
Required Professional Designation / Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher – preferably in education

Required Experience:
• 1-3 years as a learning professional with expertise in instructional design
