Vecima Networks, Inc. (TSE: VCM) is seeking talented Senior Software Developers in order to meet the growing demand for world class products for the data-over-cable, digital video, and wireless broadband industries. As Senior Software Developer you will lead in the design and development of software components, within the context of cross-functional teams executing on product visions, for Vecima’s varied product offerings. You will provide artifacts and guidance on software architecture, design, coding and test.

There is a strong preference for these positions to be based out of our main Research and Development center in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, or our Research and Development department based out of Burnaby, BC. Relocation assistance is available.

Applicants should possess the following skills:

  • Minimum of eight to ten years of experience
  • Networking protocol implementation and analysis
  • High level system and software architecture and design
  • Software testing methods and automation
  • User-land programming in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • The ability to mentor junior staff
  • Technical project team leadership
  • Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools and practices
  • Software estimation

Background in any of the following areas, while not required, would also be an asset:

  • Embedded software development
  • BSD or Linux kernel development
  • Developing Linux device drivers and/or applications
  • Embedded web development, particularly using Single Page Applications
  • TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SNMP, HTTP, and other networking protocols
  • Project management
  • Experience with MPEG, DOCSIS, IEEE 802 standards
