Vecima Networks, Inc. (TSE: VCM) is seeking talented intermediate-level Software Developers in order to meet the growing demand for world class products for the data-over-cable, digital video, and wireless broadband industries. As an Intermediate Software Developer you will be involved in the design and development of software components, within the context of cross-functional teams executing on product visions, for Vecima’s varied product offerings. You will provide artifacts on software architecture, design, coding and test.

There is a strong preference for these positions to be based out of our main Research and Development center in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, or our Research and Development department based out of Burnaby, BC. Relocation assistance is available.

Applicants should possess the following skills:

  • Minimum of four to five years of experience
  • User-land programming in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Software testing methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Background in any of the following areas, while not required, would also be an asset:

  • Networking protocol implementation and analysis
  • High level software architecture and design
  • Embedded software development
  • BSD or Linux kernel development
  • Developing Linux device drivers and/or applications
  • Embedded web development, particularly using Single Page Applications
  • TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SNMP, HTTP, and other networking protocols
  • Project management, systems design, technical project team leadership
  • Experience with MPEG, DOCSIS, IEEE 802 standards
  • Software estimation
  • Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools and practices
  • Software testing automation
