Description : Reporting to the Director of Human Resource Services, the Coordinator Faculty Affairs is responsible for the coordination, supervision, control and evaluation of activities and resources related to the management of human resources, recruitment, labour relations and remuneration for all teaching personnel.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interprets and applies the different collective agreements, classification plans, regulations, policies, and laws governing working conditions for the College’s teaching personnel;
  • Provides guidance and support for management personnel for matters related to labour relations, the application of collective agreements, College policies or laws.
  • Manages grievances concerning teaching personnel and represents Management at the Labour Relations Committee (LRC) and at arbitration;
  • Represents the College when dealing with diverse governmental and para-governmental organizations;
  • Provides support to Management for the staffing, hiring and reassignment of resources and ensures the appropriate follow-up is done in the payroll system;
  • Supervises the recruitment and selection processes for teaching personnel;
  • Responsible for employee records for teaching personnel;
  • Responsible for the determination of remuneration for teaching personnel : the evaluation of scolarity and experience, advancement of echelons, and the resulting transmission of data to payroll;
  • Ensures optimal utilization of the human resources information system and other related administrative systems;
  • Organizes New Employee Orientation day and related activities;
  • Coordinates and supervises the work of support personnel under his/her responsibility;Performs other related tasks as required.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or another related discipline; or, a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent;
  • Five years of relevant experience in the education sector, preferably in a managerial/supervisory role at the college level or in a unionized environment;
  • Strong knowledge of the Cegep system;
  • Excellent knowledge of collective agreements and Quebec labour laws;
  • Proven ability to work with an HRIS;
  • Experience with team management and/or results-based leadership;
  • Excellent human relations skills and customer service oriented;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage several dossiers simultaneously;
  • Strong oral and written ability to communicate in English and French;
  • Member of CRHA an asset.

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)

CLASSIFICATION: Cadre – classe 6
