BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Participating youth must:
be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the time of intake;
have demonstrated skills achievement at the post-secondary level (this means that you must have more than secondary school achievement);
intend to gain ICT skills and knowledge;
meet the job requirements of the IHO, which should included stated ICT-related activities;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada; and
must not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with VCN admin and web|team to execute ideas
Working with clients and VCN teams to translate concepts into variable design concepts
Leading the design and contributing to the content of the Youth Internship Program magazine
Developing design exploration assets and/or mood boards and palettes for pitches or client presentations to help determine direction
Designing promotional and event collateral for print and web
Navigating thorough revision processes to improve and/or recreate graphics for web design Executing responsible print production and delivery of appropriate files
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and experience in web development on WordPress highly desired
Working on or have completed a diploma or higher in the appropriate fields and/or have a strong portfolio of past and current works
Knowledge of web design and development process
Ability to collaborate with management and/or business team to produce presentations or business development documents for client meetings
Competency in Adobe Suite needed to deliver quality products
Passionate about design and helping non-profits succeed in their communications
Creative flair and originality through innovation
HOURS: 35 hours/week
SALARY: $15/h
INTERNSHIP DURATION: 420 hrs
