Architectural Technologist

Not an entry level position. The suitable candidate is expected to be experienced as an architectural technologist in executing the required duties and presenting high quality materials internally and to clients in a professional, well-spoken manner.

Job Duties:
1. Assist in developing architectural designs by analyzing building and space requirements;

2. Ensure designs conform to relevant by-laws, building codes and requirements;

3. Produce technical reports for supervisors;

4. Prepare computer-assisted design drawings and specifications;

5. Detail required materials from conceptual drawings;

6. Compile and report necessary instructions for architectural design;

7. Supervise projects by overseeing drafters and other technologists;

8. Oversee project coordination and monitor progress with respect to architectural designs;

9. Draft presentation materials to clients in a professional manner;

10. Prepare bidding documents as required;

11. Administer and monitor progress according to contracts; and

12. Other relevant tasks as required.

Terms of Employment: Full-time and indefinite

Wage/Salary: $ 28.05 per hour / $58, 344.00 per annum

Education Requirement:
1. Related degree/diploma in architecture; and

2. Pursuit of, or possession of, professional certification as an Architectural Technologist.

Skills Requirement:
1. Minimum seven years relevant experience;

2. Keen understanding of client needs and architectural solutions;

3. Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail;

4. Proven experience with architectural concepts, designs, drawings, and blueprints;

5. Proficiencies in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe CC;

6. Excellent professional ethics to work independently and in a team setting;

7. Excellent command of the English language to consistently produce informative and engaging reports and presentations;

8. Drafting materials for client presentations in a professional manner, experience in graphics design or similar discipline is an asset; and

9. Ability to thoroughly comprehend a contract.
