Description
:
Under the general direction of the Dean of Students, Woodsworth College, the Student Life Programs Coordinator supports the planning and implementation of a wide range of programs designed to promote the active engagement of the College’s students, with a particular emphasis on engagement. The Student Life Programs Coordinator promotes community development, academic success and personal growth of students through program implementation, student council advising as well as informal interactions with students.
Responsibilities include: assisting with the development of projects to enhance student life and the student experience; developing and facilitating opportunities for student involvement and consultation thought co-curricular programming; providing programming and training to students, dons, clubs and the Woodsworth College Student Government; providing assistance and referrals to students; overseeing our mentoring programs and providing training and support to mentors and mentees; coordinating and supporting the students aspects of recruitment events such as Summer welcome days; reviewing student group activities; acting as a member of the orientation committee and overseeing the academic/transitional orientations; developing and running our leadership programs; maintaining our media presence including website, Facebook; attention to our embedded partnerships; focus on orientation and transition.
Qualifications
:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2 years’ experience including providing support and information to students; experience advising student groups; experience with administration of mentorship programs; experience developing co-curricular activities; experience with website development and maintenance (technical and content); experience working with students in an academic foundational program (such as WW1); experience with residence students providing on call support.
Other: Demonstrated experience working with web design, maintenance in WordPress platforms; demonstrated experience working with the administrative features for Blackboard portal; highly proficient with Microsoft Office and iwork suite of programs; skilled with Photoshop or design programs; demonstrated experience with ROSI including running detailed reports; experience advising elected student leaders; experience with residence issues; experience advising student staff members.

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate
:
USW09 — $52,896 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $67,645. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
