Under the general supervision of the Health Clinic Coordinator and performing routine duties independently, the position provides front line customer service support to clients of the Health and Counselling Centre, and administrative support to the Medical Director and the Health & Counselling Centre staff. The incumbent will be responsible for acting as a receptionist, answering telephone inquiries, responding to requests for information, organizing and maintaining client charts in the electronic medical record, ensuring all client files are up to date, scheduling appointments for all centre staff and medical record filing. The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation, review, submission and reconciliation of all health insurance claims (OHIP/UHIP) and be responsible for invoicing students through postings to their ROSI financial accounts for missed medical/counseling appointments. They will also be responsible for maintaining an accurate log of these holds, sending weekly follow-up e-mails, and removing ROSI financial holds as per department procedures. He/She will also be responsible for providing administrative support such as photocopying, word and data processing including weekly transcription of psychiatry records, and maintaining office supplies.

Qualifications

: (Minimum)

Education:
One year completed post-secondary medical office administration certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Two years of related work experience in a group medical setting, including two years of experience with the preparation, review, submission and reconciliation of health insurance claims through OHIP. Experience working with an EHR (Electronic Health Record) is required. Experience with ROSI or similar database is an asset.

Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to be trained. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written) and organizational skills. Must have excellent customer services skills, and the ability to perform calmly and competently during emergency situations.

Other:
Must be able to maintain strict client confidentiality and compliance with FIPPA and PHIPPA legislation. Ability to complete work accurately while being attentive to detail. Demonstrated ability to prioritize. Exercise sound judgment. Ability to work in fast paced environment with constant interruption. Familiarity with student services in a university setting is an asset.
