The picturesque and historic University of Saskatchewan (U of S) campus is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The Vice President, Advancement and Community Engagement (VPACE) leads the mission of advancement and community engagement: To ensure that the University of Saskatchewan has the reputation, relationships and resources necessary to take its place among the most distinguished universities in Canada and the world .

The VPACE is a key member of the University’s senior leadership team. As a member of the President’s Executive Committee, the Vice President plays a central role in defining and achieving the institution’s strategic directions.

The VPACE reports to the President and provides leadership and oversight of the university’s advancement and community engagement programs including Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Community Outreach and Engagement, Development, Finance and Trusts, First Nations & Métis Engagement, and Marketing and Communications. The environment is demanding with finite resources, where potential issues and challenges often compete with priorities and demands. The work is complex and the relationships formed and decisions required of the VPACE are critical to the University. The VPACE interacts with a wide range of internal and external academic and administrative stakeholders including senior university officials, the Board, faculty, students, staff, alumni, media, donors, arts and business, foundations, government and volunteers.

The University seeks an accomplished, strong and influential leader with at least 15 years of progressive experience, preferably in an academic setting with relevant experience at a senior leadership level. The incumbent will bring to the role a proven track record in their career and demonstrated success in building a vision and inspiring people to achieve exemplary performance. Candidates will possess relevant credentials and accreditations; an advanced degree is required.
