The Université de Montréal is one of the top three research universities in Canada. Applied and theoretical research in Biostatistics, Medical Genomics and Human Genetics is a particular strength of our Institution. Bioinformatics training programs are offered by different Departments at the undergraduate, M.Sc., and Ph.D. contributing to the collaborative approach of our environment.

The Department of Medicine and the University-affiliated Montreal Heart Institute ( MHI ) solicit candidates who will be part of our institutional network in biostatistics, genomics and genetics. We are seeking candidates with a strong research program in statistical genetics and/or other quantitative approaches to interrogate high-throughput data sources to understand complex genetic problems related to human disease. She/he will have a Ph.D. in quantitative genetics, statistics, biomathematics, bioinformatics or a related area, have undertaken post-doctoral training in medical genomics and genetic epidemiology, and have established a strong publication record and a clear demonstrated potential for independent research. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, and related disciplines in collaboration with different clinical, epidemiological and genomics research groups at the Université de Montréal and the Montreal Heart Institute, as well as with other groups nationally and internationally. The language of teaching at the Université de Montréal is French; language training is offered to non-French speakers who will be required to be sufficiently proficient to teach in French after a period of three years.

The Université de Montréal offers competitive salary and benefits packages according to the collective agreement. The starting date is open. Applications will be accepted until November 1st 2015 and will be evaluated on an ongoing basis.
