Extended Education is seeking one or more experienced, academically credentialed, subject matter experts to instruct Pronunciation Clinics.

This workshop helps students speak more clearly and develop an awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses in the context of pronunciation. Students are able to improve their pronunciation through a variety of authentic speaking tasks. The various components of good pronunciation, including linking, intonation, word stress patterns, and focus words, are introduced and examined. Students will see improvement in both their overall comprehension and comprehensibility.

Responsibilities :
The responsibilities of the position include in-class instruction to adult learners, student assessment including grading and providing supplementary curriculum resources. Access to a personal computer is a requirement of this position.

Qualifications :
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree or a suitable combination of post-secondary education, professional certification and work experience in the applicable field. In addition, applicants should have experience in adult learning and teaching, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be highly organized. Applicants must be committed to life-long learning and embrace a learner-centered approach to teaching. The ability to engage students in their learning environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are an integral part of the position. Assets also include experience instructing at a post-secondary level, using teaching and learning technology (e.g. UMLearn), and demonstrated leadership skills.
