Since 1985, Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency, URSA, has been a Calgary based non-profit agency that works to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities in community settings. We continue to break down a multitude of barriers for these individuals and help them thrive in the community.

Given its continued growth, URSA is looking to add a Sales and Marketing Assistant (contract position) to its administrative team.

This position is a one year contract position.

This position will provide growth of the URSA Retreat Centre through the development and implementation of a business plan to increase external bookings and revenue at the Retreat Centre.

This position is essential to increase awareness about the URSA Retreat Centre and increase overall number of bookings. In order to succeed as the Sales and Marketing Assistant, you must be organized, efficient, an independent worker, detail orientated with great follow-up skills and self motivated.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing a marketing and business development plan that includes: timelines, budgets, marketing materials, mail outs, events, and other strategies to increase bookings at the Retreat Centre
• Attend events and tradeshows, as required, to promote the Retreat Centre
• Tours of the Retreat Centre
• Complete all bookings for the Retreat Centre and enter into booking calendar; including changes to bookings as needed
• Send invoices and ensure all payments for bookings are paid on time
• Social media management including: photos, stories, events and a variety of posts
• Create new and maintain existing contacts for the Retreat Centre including: neighbors, service clubs, groups and business in and around the Cochrane area
• Maintain database of all contacts.
• Attending Cochrane interagency meetings to promote the Centre
• Ensure that all URSA documents and external correspondence meets acceptable standards and all deadlines are met

General Requirements:

• Must possess a diploma or degree in a related field, i.e.: Hospitality Management and/or Marketing
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
• Your own transportation/vehicle, a valid class 5 driver’s license
• Proficiency in all MS Office programs and other software
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment that involves working under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Previous experience in the non-profit field would be considered an asset

The salary is $42,000 per year.

The typical work week is 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime, evenings and weekends.
